The Oakley Street Cello Ensemble is a mixed-level ensemble of 13 cellists without a conductor. The group was formed when in 2006 their founder posted an ad in the Chicago Reader and Craig’s List to gather more cello friends and start a band. The ensemble has been growing ever since.
Oakley Street Cello Ensemble performs 3 to 8-part arrangements of a wide variety of musical genres and plays at least two concerts a year, and at times appears at farmer’s markets and summer festivals.
This concert is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome as they help fund new music purchases and performance costs.
